Many Newcastle United supporters have been reacting to a Twitter post from @NUFC360 which relayed an update from L’Equipe (via Le 10 Sport) regarding the future of Nice midfielder Wylan Cyprien.
The Magpies were credited with an interest in the 25-year-old earlier this year (as per Chronicle Live). According to the tweet providing the update, the Ligue 1 side have dropped their asking price for the player down to €10m (£9.19m).
During the 2019/20 campaign, the midfielder made 20 appearances in the French top flight, contributing seven goals and three assists (as per WhoScored). Here is what a sample of the St. James’ Park faithful have made of the news that Nice have seemingly altered their stance regarding Cyprien.
Should be all over this

Would you like to see Newcastle move for Wylan Cyprien?
Yes
No
It’s clear from the above responses that these supporters would love to see their club make a move for the £13.05m-rated former France Under-21 international. However, some feel a deal that would see the player move to the Tyneside is unlikely. Here is what they had to say:
We’re not getting another CM

Cyprien would laugh at our club, he’s got more chance of signing for a team like West Ham or even Fulham than us. I’d be amazed if this was true news.

More nonsense

It remains to be seen whether or not Steve Bruce’s side will launch a formal bid for the player between now and the end of the current transfer window, though perhaps the news that they might be able to acquire Cyprien for a significantly lower price will tempt them into making contact.
