A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from CBS Sports reporter Roger Gonzalez, who claims that DeAndre Yedlin looks set to leave the Toon before the end of the transfer window and could leave for free, with many MLS clubs interested.
Yedlin has been with Newcastle since the summer of 2016, but it looks like his time on Tyneside could be up, though these Toon fans are not that bothered.
Would you be happy to see Yedlin leave?
Yes, he has had his time
No, good squad player
Really hope this is true.
Lovely lad but awful footballer.
Better aged 23 than he is at 27….that’s something that shouldn’t be able to fe said.
Regressed massively over a 4 year period. #NUFC

The 27-year-old started Newcastle’s 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup in his 116th appearance for the club, but he turned in an average performance that saw him earn a 6/10 rating from The Chronicle.
The USA international only played 16 Premier League games last season and only four following June’s restart.
Instead, Javier Manquillo emerged as Steve Bruce’s preferred option towards the end of the season and started in Newcastle’s 2-0 win over West Ham United last Saturday and turned in a solid 7.38/10 performance (as per WhoScored).
The Toon also have Emil Krafth at their disposal, so maybe it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Yedlin return to MLS, though these Toon fans are baffled that the club would let him leave on a free.
Why would we get rid of him on a free transfer? That’s not going to happen

Why would we let him go for free ?????. He just signed a new contract, he isn’t good enough but should still command a fee of at least 3-5m!

Free? Bit pointless may as well pay his wages and keep as back up for the no doubt injury crisis we will get

Free transfer??we are not a charity at all

The 27-year-old was signed for just £5.31m and has less than a year left on his contract, so if Newcastle did let him go for nothing, they would only be making a small loss.
It will be interesting to see if Gonzalez is right and whether the American will end his time on Tyneside in favour of a move back to MLS.
Certainly, it is clear that many Newcastle fans want him to do that.
