Many Newcastle United supporters have been reacting to a tweet from Miles Starforth of the Shields Gazette in which he relayed some comments made by Steve Bruce.
The Magpies travel down to London this weekend to take on Jose Mourinho’s side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday and speaking ahead of the fixture, with regards to transfers, Starforth has quoted Bruce as saying:
“Never say never. If there’s something there that can improve us, we’re always trying to be active. We need one or two to leave the building.”
Having read the 59-year-old’s comments, this is how a sample of the St. James’ Park faithful have responded:
starting with you and ashley

Saivet and Lazaar definitely need to go! Atsu i think is being phased out. Has danoe his job but time i think to move on. Yedlin i think could become a utility player of sorts. He may be thinkong of leaving anyhow. Who knows. But yea…there is definitely some room for departures

I don’t think people understand that no matter who Steve Bruce signs, he won’t get them scoring. The signing we need is Eddie Howe, simple.

Do you expect Newcastle to sign anybody else before the window shuts?
Yes
No
Soooooooooo…
No more transfers then.
People don’t want to leave because we pay them too much for their ability.

It’s clear from the above responses that many of these Newcastle United fans were disappointed by the boss’ comments. However, it is important to note that he didn’t completely rule out further business being done between now and the closure of the transfer window.
