A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from a Toon fan on Twitter that contains a link to the website of Blackstone Chambers which appears to have removed a page relating to the case involving the Toon from its website.

A nice easy one to start off with. Who scored Newcastle's opening goal of the 2020/21 PL season?

Earlier this week, it was announced that the club and Mike Ashley had appointed Nick De Marco and Shaheed Fatima from the law firm to help them in a dispute with the Premier League over the proposed takeover of the club.

However, it looks as if an article on the case has now been removed from the website, which has worried these Toon fans.

Is this anything to worry about?

It had been reported that the two lawyers had been appointed by the club to help force through the proposed takeover of Newcastle by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium.

This follows on from a statement released by Newcastle which suggested that the Premier League had formally rejected the takeover by PCP Capital Partners, the Reuben brothers and PIF.

The league denied this claim, but then it was announced that Fatima and De Marco had been appointed, and now the story has disappeared from Blackstone Chambers’ website.

However, some Toon fans are not as worried and either think this is standard practice or that it is a sign the takeover is happening.

It is unclear what this means, but it does seem odd that the story has disappeared from the site.

The Toon fans’ reaction to this has been split, with some panicking and others more positive, so we will have to see what happens now and whether it is nothing to worry about or if it indicates that the legal challenge from the club and Ashley is over already.
