A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a post from The Chronicle that contains a link to their live blog from Thursday.
It includes comments from former striker Michael Owen on his prediction for the Toon’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
In his blog on BetVictor, Owen predicted a 1-1 draw between Newcastle and Spurs (15.56) and claimed that he is ‘still to be convinced by Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham’ and that Newcastle have had a ‘topsy-turvy start to the season’, backing the Toon to get a point against Spurs.
This has drawn the attention of these Newcastle fans, who are baffled by Owen’s call.
Do you listen to anything Owen says?
No, I don't care about him
Yes, he knows what he is talking about
What’s he after?

Owen played for Newcastle and was their record signing until the club signed Miguel Almiron in January 2019, but he has regularly criticised the club.
It is fair to say that many Toon fans hate him, so it is no surprise to see that some don’t care what Owen thinks.

Other Newcastle fans are now expecting Newcastle’s hopes of a draw to be over because in their view, Owen is never right.
Thats us battered never right this bloke

Absolutely won’t happen then. Man couldn’t pick a winner in a one horse race

Newcastle beat Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season as a goal from Joelinton gave the Toon their first win of the 2019/20 campaign, so it will be intriguing to see if they can repeat that on Sunday.
Both sides have won one game and lost one game in the Premier League this season, while both the Toon and Spurs have been busy in the transfer market.
So it could be a good game, and Owen could yet be proved right, but it is clear that these Newcastle fans don’t care about what he has to say about their club.
