Supporters of Newcastle United have taken to social media to react to an injury update that was relayed to Twitter by the club.

On Friday afternoon, the Toon posted an update that carried comments which had been made by Steve Bruce (per Newcastle United).

In the update, the Newcastle manager explained that Jamal Lewis and Allan Saint-Maximin are both “a doubt” for the upcoming clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

That is due to the fact that Lewis has “an awful eye injury” and Saint-Maximin has “a slight twist to his ankle”.

After the update was shared on Twitter by the club, lots of fans flocked to it to air their reactions.

A nice easy one to start off with. Who scored Newcastle's opening goal of the 2020/21 PL season?

Both the Northern Irish left-back and the French winger have appeared in both of the Toon’s Premier League matches so far this season (per WhoScored).

Which player is more important for the Toon?

Over his two appearances in the top flight this term, Lewis has earned a 6.49/10 average rating for Newcastle which has made him their 10th-best performer.

Saint-Maximin, however, has been worse than Lewis in the two outings as he has been the club’s second-worst performer with a 6.22/10 average rating.

As can be seen in what these Newcastle fans responded to the tweet with, supporters seemed to have a number of negative opinions regarding the injury update.
