A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to Twitter to rave over Jacob Murphy’s performance for the Toon in their 7-0 EFL Cup third-round win over Morecambe.
The Toon cruised to a dominant victory over the League Two side, with Murphy managing to score a goal and provide an assist for the North East club.
After the game, Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce shared praise for the £3.15m-rated 25-year-old, declaring that he ‘won’t be letting him out on loan’ this term and stating that he believes Murphy ‘benefited from being out on loan last season and has really given us food for thought,’ as per the Toon’s official Twitter account.
Bruce wasn’t the only one who was impressed by the Englishman’s performance against Morecambe, as plenty of Newcastle supporters also shared some positive words for Murphy via Twitter following this EFL Cup win.

Some Newcastle fans made a case for Murphy to remain a part of the Toon’s squad this season following his performance against Morecambe, with the 25-year-old having spent the 2019/20 season out on loan with Sheffield Wednesday.
Surely we’re better off having Murphy as our back up winger this season than Atsu?! #NUFC

Do you think Murphy will play an important role for the Toon this season?
YES
NO
Considering that he scored and provided an assist in this game, it may not come as a big surprise that plenty of Newcastle fans were full of praise for Murphy following their side’s dominant win over Morecambe.
Seeing as these Toon fans were so impressed with the player’s performance, we feel that they are likely to be pleased with Bruce’s post-match comments confirming his desire to keep Murphy at St. James’ Park this season.
Hopefully, for Murphy, he can kick on from here and deliver some more positive performances for the North East club – if given the opportunity – as this season progresses.
