Some Newcastle United fans have criticised DeAndre Yedlin’s performance for the Toon in the club’s EFL Cup third-round win over League Two side Morecambe on Wednesday night.
Yedlin played the entirety of the North East club’s 7-0 midweek win and even managed to provide an assist for Isaac Hayden’s goal which came just before half time and put the Toon five goals to the good.
However, Yedlin’s performance in the match didn’t go down well with some Newcastle supporters, who shared some criticism for the player’s performance on Twitter.
One Toon fan declared that they believed Yedlin was ‘awful’ against Morecambe, while another Newcastle supporter agreed with them, sharing that they think the 27-year-old ‘still hasn’t found his level’.
Yedlin still looks awful mind ?

Aye still hasn’t found his level ?

Meanwhile, some other Toon supporters suggested that they would be happy to see the £5.85m-rated United States international depart from St. James’ Park, indicating that his performance in this dominant win over Morecambe didn’t go down very well with them.
gg, give them yedlin as a kind gift

Rather keep him than Atsu and Yedlin

So by my reckoning that’s Atsu, Yedlin, Barlaser and Saivet for the last 2 remaining squad places or 2 leave to give us the spaces and 2 end up like Colback & Saivet last season #nufc

Players like Yedlin, Longstaff and Kraft should just be left behind, they’ve definitley found their level! #NUFC

Would you like Yedlin to be sold?
YES
NO
So, as can be seen in these Toon supporters’ tweets, it’s clear that they weren’t impressed with the full-back’s performance versus Morecambe.
Considering that the 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from St. James’ Park recently, with Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas said to be a potential destination for the player, perhaps the Newcastle fans indicating that they wouldn’t mind seeing the back of Yedlin will get their wish, especially if the decision-makers at the North East club agree with their assessment of his performance in this EFL Cup clash with Morecambe.
