How well do you remember the action from the opening weekend of the Premier League? - 1. Who scored the first goal of the season?

One of the deals that he spent a little bit of time on was Manchester United’s pursuit of Jadon Sancho and where negotiations are currently at.

It seems as if Sancho is not going to demand to leave Borussia Dortmund in order to force a move to Old Trafford, but he is ready to join the Red Devils.

Romano said: “The situation is always the same, so the player has the agreement with Manchester United, as we know.

“At the moment, we have links with many options for Manchester United [for a winger], but Manchester United, with their board, they are still convinced they can try again for Jadon Sancho.

“So, the top target today is still Jadon Sancho.

“Last week, he had direct contact with the board of Borussia Dortmund and what he said is, ‘I am not going to strike. So, if you’re going to sell me to Manchester United, I would be happy to join.

‘If you’re going to sell me to Manchester United, I am ready to join, I have the agreement.’

“So, Sancho is not a problem for Manchester United, but he is not going to [go on] strike [at] Borussia Dortmund.

“So, don’t expect tomorrow morning, Sancho to say, ‘I want to leave immediately.'”

TIF Thoughts…

The Sancho to Manchester United story has been going on for a while now, and though it is believed he has agreed personal terms with the Red Devils, Dortmund and Manchester United have not agreed on a fee.

The 20-year-old started the season well for Dortmund with a goal and an assist in his first game of the season, taking him onto 35 goals and 44 assists for Lucien Favre’s side.

However, Romano suggests he will not push for a move to Old Trafford, so it is up to the Red Devils to match Dortmund’s asking price, or Sancho may end up staying in the Bundesliga for a while yet.
