Journalist Christian Falk has recently made a claim about Manchester United’s chase of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

Falk was a guest on the latest episode of the OTB Football podcast and he discussed many potential transfers in European football. One specific case that he focused on was that of Sancho and his links with a move to Old Trafford. The journalist revealed that there is still a ‘little’ chance that the Englishman ends up at Man United.

Manchester Evening News recently reported that Sancho remains United’s ‘priority target’ this summer and the club is working on making three more signings this summer, following their capture of Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek.

Meanwhile, according to Sky Sports, United were thought to have made a breakthrough in negotiations on Wednesday evening.

Prior to Wednesday’s reports, Falk discussed the possibility of United signing Sancho and believes that there remains a ‘little’ chance of him joining the club.

Is Man Utd's move for Sancho dead in the water?

He said: “I heard and my colleague Fabrizio Romano, [who] is also very close to the deal, [is] still hearing that there is just a little chance because United [have not] given up, but I heard from Dortmund that they don’t expect anything at the moment. So if I have to say it in per cent – I’d say 25%.”

Can you score 20/20 on this Premier League quiz? Starting off easy, who is the top scorer in the Premier League this season?

TIF Thoughts…

Sancho had a very impactful 2019/20 campaign for Dortmund. In the Bundesliga, he scored 17 goals and picked up 16 assists as well. As a result, he picked up a very impressive Whoscored rating of 7.64 for the German club, demonstrating what a great player Sancho is.

Sky Sports’ recent report suggests United’s move could yet develop to sign Sancho, having supposedly overcome the hurdles of agent fees and personal terms.

With the summer transfer window set to slam shut within a month, United might have to speed up and get this deal done soon. The Red Devils start their Premier League campaign on 19th September and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might prefer his club to sign their ‘priority target’ before they kick-off the 2020/21 campaign.
