LFC Daytrippers contributor Grizz Khan has claimed that the Premier League champions recently made an ‘ambitious’ loan offer for a forward player.

Liverpool recently signed Diogo Jota from Wolverhampton Wanderers in order to bolster their attacking options and according to Khan, the club have tried to add a further player, although his identity was not revealed.

First up in this Jordan Henderson quiz, how old is the Liverpool captain?

Here is what he had to say during the Transfer Agenda Show:

“I don’t think we’re going to bring in a forward unless we get the sales that we’re looking for – but we’re not getting them and it’s getting too, too late. I did hear of an attempt at a loan-to-buy [approach], but I won’t mention the name quite yet.

“I did hear of that, but I don’t think that’s going to progress. It was an ambitious attempt, let’s just say.”

Are you confident Liverpool will sign another forward during this window?

TIF Thoughts…

The Reds have recently been credited with an interest in Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona and although Khan didn’t name the 23-year-old winger we do wonder if perhaps he is the player they’re said to have enquired about.

Despite the front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino scoring an impressive 46 Premier League goals between them last season (as per Transfermarkt), in terms of attacking talent, it appears the Anfield club feel they could do with more.

Even with the addition of Jota for a reported £41m (as per BBC Sport), judging by what the podcaster has had to say, Klopp is still looking to add further depth to the squad with both Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster being linked with moves away from Merseyside.
