On the subject of Brewster, Pearce revealed what could possibly happen to him this summer regarding his future at the club.

He said: “I think it’s a genuine dilemma for Klopp. Not surprisingly, in excess of I think it’s up to about a dozen clubs who have listed their interest about a potential loan; seven or eight in the Premier League, and then three or four in the top end of the teams in the Championship.

“Liverpool have been in no rush to make a decision. I think when I spoke to people there at the back end of last week, they said that he was always going to be part of the squad for the Community Shield, then he’s gone away with the England U21s this week and then when he returns, I think they’re all going to sit around the table and thrash out what they think is best for his development.”

The previous January transfer window saw Brewster make a move to Championship side Swansea City on a loan deal until the end of the 2019/20 season. During his spell in Wales, the striker managed to score an impressive 11 goals in 22 appearances for the club before returning to Liverpool at the end of July.

Unfortunately for Brewster, his penalty miss in the recent Community Shield showdown led to Liverpool losing to Arsenal in the penalty shootout at Wembley Stadium at the weekend.

TIF Thoughts…

With so many clubs reportedly being interested in signing Brewster on loan this summer as Pearce said in the podcast, this shows that they see Brewster as someone who could be a big boost for their side in the same way he was for Swansea last season.

With Brewster set to have talks with Liverpool in the coming weeks, it will be interesting to see what the club decides is the best option for the striker this summer and his development, as Pearce said.
