LFC Daytrippers contributor Grizz Khan has been discussing the future of Rhian Brewster during a recent episode of the podcast.

The 20-year-old striker spent the second half of last season on loan with Swansea City in the Championship, for whom he scored 11 goals in 22 appearances in what was an incredibly successful spell.

Despite returning to Anfield earlier this summer, it appears that an exit for the forward could be on the cards, with recent reports linking the player with a move to Bramall Lane to join Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United.

During the opening game of the 2019/20 Premier League season, which Norwich City player scored an own goal to open the scoring?

On what the future holds for the player and whether or not the Reds are looking to sell or loan the player, here is what Khan had to say:

“[Sheffield United] are frontrunners, they’re not the only runners. Brewster is definitely leaving. It’s literally [whether] we can get a fee for him.

“[Our] first option is to sell him, but for that option to come to fruition, we’ve got to [receive] a proper bid for him. We’ve had decent bids for him, but not quite what we want. Unfortunately, for some people who really rate Brewster, he is going to be moved on.”

Are Liverpool making a mistake allowing Brewster to leave?

TIF Thoughts…

According to Khan, there is no chance of the player staying on Merseyside and fighting for a place in Jurgen Klopp’s team. Brewster missed a penalty during the Community Shield final shootout against Arsenal and although we don’t believe the club’s decision regarding the player’s future will be based on that, if he is to leave, it could be argued it would be a somewhat disappointing end to his Anfield career.
