Many Leeds United supporters have been reacting to James Marshment’s recent Twitter post concerning the club’s interest in Rodrigo de Paul.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been linked with a move for the Argentine attacking midfielder but Marshment has relayed a report from Tele Radio Stereo (via Football Italia) which claims Roma have been in contact with the player’s representative about a potential move to the Italian capital.
De Paul currently plays his football for Udinese and whilst it could be argued a move to the Giallorossi would be a step up as they offer Europa League football, it is understood that Leeds ‘remain in pole position’ to sign the 26-year-old.
Here is how a sample of the Elland Road faithful responded to this latest development.
MY heart Is set on it also

40m is a good price I think for a player of his caliber it’s just alot for us as a newly promoted side its high risk high reward

Are you confident Leeds United will land Rodrigo de Paul during this transfer window?
Yes
No
It’s clear from the above responses that these Leeds fans are keen to see the club land the player. During the 2019/20 campaign, the £27m-rated Argentina international made 34 appearances in Serie A, scoring seven goals and providing his teammates with six assists (via WhoScored.com).
However, not all of the club’s fans are as optimistic about their chances of landing the player with one supporter suggesting Udinese’s reported asking price of €40m is unreasonable.
I think €40m is actually ridiculous, theres no way they can expect to get that, €30m with add ons should be able to secure him

Given the player’s average performance rating in the Italian top flight last season was an impressive 7.25/10 (via WhoScored.com), you can understand why some of the country’s biggest clubs are also considering a move for the Leeds target.
