Supporters of Leeds United have been reacting to quotes which were made by Brighton & Hove Albion manager Graham Potter regarding Ben White.
During the 2019/20 season, the English centre-back spent the campaign on loan with Marcelo Bielsa’s outfit in the Championship (per Transfermarkt).
Having been linked with a return to the Whites during the summer, White put pen to paper on a new four-year deal with the Seagulls which was announced earlier this month (per BBC).
However, Potter stated that he realises the player will be making a step up from the Championship to the Premier League and that it is not “straightforward” (per TEAMtalk).
The report containing the quotes was relayed to social media by James Marshment and it had lots of Leeds fans talking.
Graham Potter is doing his best to dampen expectation levels around Ben White and admits it'll 'be tough' for him to reproduce his form for Leeds last season on a consistent basis.https://t.co/MuLzI0g9P7

The Brighton manager also went on to state that he recognises there will be “challenges” for the young centre-back as well as “ups and downs”.
Will Ben White be able to make the step up from the Championship to the Premier League?
No, he's not good enough
Yes, he's a good player
Get the excuses in early for the coaches inadequacies ?

Basically admitting they kept him against his wishes and now will not be able to coach him the same way as Bielsa so he will be a worse player this season? ? poor lad.

During his season on loan at Elland Road, White appeared in all 46 of Leeds’ Championship fixtures in which he scored once and assisted twice (per WhoScored).
The defender also turned in impressive performances as he earned a 7.09/10 average rating which made him the Whites’ fifth-best performer over the duration of the league season.
He means he’s not sure he can get the best out of the lad like Bielsa did lol ?????

As can be seen in these responses from Leeds fans, they were keen to slate Potter following his comments regarding Leeds’ former on-loan man.
