Many Leeds United supporters have been responding to a tweet from Fabrizio Romano in which he reports that Crysencio Summerville is set to join the club from Feyenoord as talks continue regarding Rodrigo de Paul.
18-year-old Summerville, a winger by trade, is yet to appear for the Eredivisie club’s first team. Romano claims a ‘total agreement’ has been reached which will see the player swap Rotterdam for Yorkshire and citing fellow journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
Summerville is a Dutch Under-19 international for whom he has made five appearances and scored six goals to date (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk).
Here is how a sample of the club’s supporters have responded to the journalist’s post and it seems many were more interested in the update on De Paul.
Crysencio Summerville is set to join Leeds from Feyenoord – as per @DiMarzio. Total agreement reached for the Dutch winger. Talks on for Rodrigo de Paul but Udinese don’t want to negotiate for less than €40m – still no agreement, Draxler is on the list too. ?? #LUFC #transfers

Walk away from de Rodrigo, draxler will cost less, and put difference into his wages, we are been held to ransom,

€40m is very steep. Talking about £36m for De Paul, he looks class but would be a gamble to see if he can cut it in the Prem with us.

Fair play to our owner for trying, but can’t see Draxler. Would be class though

Personally son I’d just pay the €40m for De Paul, he’s literally Pablo but 9 years younger, real top quality! I know we have the cash but we’ll have to see what the club think about paying the full amount.

It’s clear from the above responses that these supporters are split on whether or not they would prefer to see De Paul or Julian Draxler join the club. Many continued to react to the post in the replies.
Honestly thought De Paul talks had died a death. If we’re still in for him, that’s great news.

Whilst it seems, based on Romano’s comments, that Summerville could be the club’s next signing, some fans are keen to see Udinese’s Argentine playmaker come in. De Paul made 34 appearances in the Italian top-flight last season, scoring seven goals and providing his teammates with six assists (via WhoScored.com). His average performance rating was an impressive 7.25/10 and he was Man of the Match on eight occasions.
Taking all of that into consideration, if Leeds were to complete a deal for the 26-year-old, we believe it would represent an excellent piece of business.
