Many Leeds United supporters have taken to social media to respond to a recent tweet from Erling Braut Haaland after he scored two goals and provided an assist during Norway’s 5-1 win over Northern Ireland on Monday night.
The visitors cruised to victory at Windsor Park and the player’s individual performance rating, according to WhoScored.com, was an impressive 9.74/10. The player’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland, used to play for Leeds United, so it could be argued that the club’s supporters feel some sort of connection to the 20-year-old, due to his father’s relationship with the Whites.
Here is how a sample of the Elland Road faithful have responded to the Borussia Dortmund striker’s post, with plenty calling for the striker – who was born in the city and has previously claimed that his dream is ‘to win the Premier League with Leeds‘ – to make a dramatic switch to west Yorkshire.

Haaland joined Dortmund back in January from RB Salzburg in a deal reportedly worth £18m (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk). Since swapping Austria for Germany, he has scored 16 goals and provided three assists in just 18 appearances. Fans continued to respond and urged the striker to follow in his father’s footsteps by coming to Elland Road.

According to Transfermarkt, the player is currently valued at £64.8m and so even if he came to the Premier League someday, we believe he’d likely be out of Leeds United’s price range.
