In recent comments made on Twitter, Leeds United correspondent for The Athletic, Phil Hay, has stated that the club’s reported move for Feyenoord winger Crysencio Summerville ‘should happen’.

The 18-year-old, who is currently valued at £1.35 million (as per Transfermarkt), has been heavily linked with a move to Elland Road over the transfer window, with Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio recently reporting that a deal is ‘very close’.

Starting with an easy one how many points did Leeds end the season with?

This would appear to be backed up by Hay, who, when asked by a Leeds fan on Twitter whether the club were indeed interested in the Netherlands U19 international, replied: “Yes, should happen.”

The winger spent last season on loan with ADO Den Haag, where he featured 21 times in the Eredivisie, scoring two goals and providing three assists.

This term, the winger has featured once for the Feyenoord U21 side, in a 4-2 loss to NAC Breda U21, with Summerville picking up one assist in the fixture.

TIF Thoughts…

The fact that Summerville was a regular starter for ADO Den Haag in the Eredivisie last season shows that the winger is more than capable of playing top-flight football in Holland.

However, should the winger go on to sign for Leeds, the fact that he would be competing for a place in the side on the wings with the likes of Helder Costa, Ian Poveda, Jordan Stevens and Jack Harrison, means it looks likely that, in our opinion, he could very much be a signing for the future.

However, even if the winger was to spend a season with the Leeds U23 side, judging by the rate of his development so far at just 18 years old, in our view, he will be one to watch in the coming years.
