Some Leeds United fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by The Daily Mirror’s David Anderson in which he claimed that the Whites ‘want Dan James on loan from Manchester United.’

Prior to joining the Red Devils from Swansea City in the summer of 2019 for £16m, James had been set to move to Elland Road in January of that year, however, that deal ‘collapsed at the eleventh hour,’ as explained by Manchester Evening News, as then-Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins ‘pulled the plug’ on the transfer.

However, after spending the 2019/20 season at Old Trafford, in which he scored three goals and provided six assists in the Premier League – with the latter being United’s joint-second-highest total in the league last term – it now appears as though the Whites have rekindled their interest in James following their promotion back to the top flight for the first time since their relegation back in the 2003/04 season after claiming the 2019/20 Championship title.

Plenty of Leeds supporters replied to Anderson’s tweet sharing this alleged news regarding the Whites’ interest in James to share their thoughts on this transfer claim.

Some Leeds fans replied to this post to share that they would be happy to see James at Elland Road on loan.

Nice easy one to start with, who scored Leeds' first goal of the PL season?

However, some Whites fans declared that they would only take James on loan from their bitter rivals Manchester United if there was an option to buy him included in the deal.

Would you take Dan James on loan?

So, judging by these Leeds fans’ tweets, it seems that while some would be happy to see James on loan at their club for the 2020/21 season, a lot of Whites supporters would only take the player on loan with an option to buy.

With the transfer window set to close in less than two weeks, it will be interesting to see how this potential transfer develops and whether or not Leeds will be able to secure the 22-year-old’s signature.
