Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which David Anderson claims that the club are refusing to pay Udinese’s asking price for attacking midfielder Rodrigo de Paul.
According to The Mirror journalist, Leeds will not be paying the £35.7 million asking price for the midfielder, as the club ‘know De Paul wants to come to Leeds’ and that ‘personal terms would not be a problem’ – and therefore happy to be patient in negotiations.
In reaction to his tweet, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that they can see the deal falling through because of the club’s apparent stubbornness.

It is rather understandable why these fans of Leeds appear to be worried about missing out on De Paul, as since the midfielder’s arrival at Udinese from Valencia in a £2.7 million deal back in 2016, the 26-year-old has highly impressed for the club, scoring 25 goals and providing 25 assists in 146 appearances.
Last season, the Argentina international featured in 34 Serie A games, scoring seven goals and providing six assists, averaging a very impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.25/10, as well as earning eight WhoScored Man of the Match awards.
Do you think De Paul will make the move to Leeds before the transfer window closes?
Yes
No
Many more fans of the club took to Twitter to share their concerns about Leeds potentially missing out on the £27 million-rated midfielder.

Honestly ridiculous, trying to get top players for bargain prices never going to happen. https://t.co/KVuSvo1NSK

All in all, it would seem that many of these fans are not happy at their club ‘playing the waiting game’ for De Paul, and would rather their club just stump up the asking price for the Udinese man.
However, with a little while longer before the transfer window closes, there is arguably plenty of time for movement in the deal, so while we agree it does not look promising at present for De Paul’s move to Elland Road, the transfer is not dead just yet.
