Nice easy one to start with, who scored Leeds' first goal of the PL season?

He responded to that question by sharing that he believes there is a realistic chance of this deal happening, saying: ‘It does look realistic because dialogue has happened between the clubs, the player is clearly open to it and it’s about money, like every transfer.

‘As good as he is, the club has to weigh up how and where they spend their budget. This would not be a cheap deal when you weigh everything up. They have to drive a hard bargain with Udinese and not just roll over.’ (Liveblog, 14:59, 15/09/20)

TIF Thoughts…

Judging by Cross’ comments on this potential transfer, it seems as though the two clubs coming to an agreement with regard to De Paul’s transfer fee is the only thing currently standing between the Whites and the signing of De Paul.

As per talkSPORT, De Paul himself recently took to Twitter to reply to a tweet that was posted by Leeds United-focused Twitter account @TheSquareBall to seemingly confirm his interest in joining the Whites, also suggesting that it is simply up to the two clubs now to get this deal done.

The journalist’s statement that this potential deal ‘does look realistic’ is a positive one for this transfer, however, Cross’ comment that ‘this would not be a cheap deal’ suggests that the Whites will have to spend big to sign De Paul.

So, it will be interesting to see just how highly Leeds rate the Argentinian and whether or not they ultimately do meet Udinese’s asking price for the player.
