The Athletic reporter Greg O’Keeffe has recently discussed the potential for further Everton signings in the current transfer window.

So far this window, the Toffees have sealed the arrival of four new players at Goodison Park with three midfielders and one defender (per Transfermarkt).

Niels Nkounkou arrived from Marseille, Allan joined from Napoli, James Rodriguez sealed his switch from Real Madrid earlier this week, while Abdoulaye Doucoure soon followed from Watford.

The incomings have left the Everton squad looking fairly well-stocked in the centre of midfield, however, they still appear to be lacking in other areas.

For example, Theo Walcott is the only out-and-out right-winger in the first-team squad.

So, in the latest episode of The Athletic’s Gwlad Tidings podcast, O’Keeffe discussed the potential for further signings in the current transfer window.

To kick off this quiz on Everton's 2019/20 season, which side did the Toffees' first win of the term come against?

He said: “We’ll see what else is on the horizon, but there could potentially be more coming in.

“Certainly in the sense of there’s still the unresolved issue over left-back cover for Lucas Digne in the wake of Leighton Baines’ retirement at the end of the season.

“Although, it might be they decide to go with Jonjoe Kenny and Seamus Coleman; I’d say that’s a bit of a grey area again given the noise over Kenny’s future and whether or not he’s seen as somebody who they want as the next right-back when Seamus is ready to hang up his boots.

“So, we’ll see over that, but yeah, watch this space on more incomings.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the journalist had to say, he believes the Toffees could make further signings in the current transfer window due to certain unresolved issues in the squad.

Do Everton need to make more signings in the current transfer window?

With Carlo Ancelotti’s side having sunk £21.7m on Allan, around £12m on Rodriguez and £20m on Doucoure, it will certainly be interesting to see if they splash any more cash in the current window.
