Mark Ogden has been discussing the future of Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha on ESPN FC

Roy Hodgson revealed back in July that the player’s desire is to leave the south London club but at present, he remains with the Eagles. Zaha has started the season in excellent form, scoring the winners versus Southampton on the opening weekend before bagging a brace at Old Trafford last Saturday (as per Transfermarkt).

How well do you remember the action from the opening weekend of the Premier League? - 1. Who scored the first goal of the season?

The Ivorian re-joined Palace back in February 2015 in a deal reportedly worth £3.42m (as per Transfermarkt). According to Ogden, the club would be looking for in excess of £50m for the player and here is what he thinks will end up happening with regards to the 27-year-old’s future.

“The fee that Palace tend to want, something more than £50m, it’s a tough market, and I don’t see where Zaha goes for that kind of money. Palace are open to selling for the right fee and Zaha wants to go, but I just don’t see a club taking him. So I think by the time the window closes, Zaha will still be a Palace player.”

Do you think Zaha will remain a Palace player after October 5?

TIF Thoughts…

Former Arsenal boss Unai Emery has admitted he was very interested in Zaha during his time as the Gunners’ head coach but that the club’s hierarchy did not support him in his view despite the winger being keen on the move. (as per The Guardian).

Taking into consideration Ogden’s comments and the fact that it seems the £39.6m-rated attacker missed out on the chance to join a side such as Arsenal last season, who are regulars in Europe, it could be that he ends up remaining at Selhurst Park at least until January.
