According to TEAMtalk, Crystal Palace have made an approach for Queens Park Rangers winger, Bright Osayi-Samuel.

Since making the move to QPR from Blackpool back in 2017, Osayi-Samuel has gone on to make 93 appearances for the R’s, scoring 10 goals and providing 10 assists along the way.

Crystal Palace fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Palace 19/20 season quiz. We'll start off with an easy one... Which side did Palace face on the opening day of the 19/20 Premier League season?

Last season, the 22-year-old was in fine form for the west London side, scoring five goals and providing eight assists over his 37 Championship appearances, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.85.

As a result of these performances, there have been reports linking the £1.53 million-rated winger with a move away from the club this summer, with TEAMtalk reporting that Osayi-Samuel has turned down a new contract at the club, resulting in QPR being keen to cash in on the 22-year-old before his contract expires next summer.

The same report states that Crystal Palace, who signed Eberechi Eze from the R’s this past summer, are now ‘leading the chase’ for the winger, and that although a ‘number of clubs are keen on landing’ Osayi-Samuel, Roy Hodgson’s side ‘have made the first move’.

TIF Thoughts…

At just 22-years-old, Osayi-Samuel seems like an exciting prospect and one who, in our opinion, would provide Palace with decent squad depth in the wide positions.

In addition to this, with the south London side said to be keen to lower the average age of their squad, which was the oldest in the Premier League last season, by signing younger players, 22-year-old Osayi-Samuel certainly fits this bill.

Finally, with Eze already making the move across London from QPR to Palace, we would imagine that both players would enjoy linking up once again this season, considering how well they both played for the R’s in the Championship last term.
