Crystal Palace are one of a number of clubs who are interested in signing Daniel James from Manchester United during this window – that’s according to the Daily Mail.
The £17.1m-rated winger joined the Manchester club from Swansea City back in July 2019 in a deal reportedly worth £16m (as per Transfermarkt).
Since arriving at Old Trafford, the player has made 47 appearances, scoring four goals and providing his teammates with seven assists.
Despite the Eagles’ reported interest in the 22-year-old, it is claimed that James’ preference would be to remain at United and fight for his place.
Interestingly, Roy Hodgson’s side came out on top in the recent Premier League encounter between the two sides, and that day, James played 45 minutes for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Following that performance, the Welshman was awarded a weak performance rating of 6.02/10 by WhoScored.com.
During the 2019/20 season, James played 33 times in the Premier League and his average performance rating was 6.61/10 (as per WhoScored) which suggests he performed below his normal level during the fixture at Old Trafford recently.

Taking into account that last season was the player’s first playing in the English top flight, we believe his aforementioned average performance rating was a solid one.
However, taking into consideration the fact that the player wants to remain with United and that Leeds’ Marcelo Bielsa is a long-term admirer of the player, it could be argued that a move to Crystal Palace for the Wales international feels unlikely.
It could even be argued that a winger shouldn’t be a priority for the Eagles given both Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend have contributed four Premier League goals between them already this season (as per Transfermarkt).
