Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey has been sharing his praise for Villa defender Ezri Konsa.

This comes after Bracey recently co-hosted the latest episode of The Villa View podcast where he looked back on Villa’s 3-0 win over Fulham in the Premier League.

First up in this quiz on Gabriel Agbonlahor, how old is the former Villa man?

On the topic of Konsa, who played throughout the entire match at Craven Cottage, Bracey had this to say on the defender. (2.59)

He said: “One thing I spotted with Konsa I mean [Aleksandar] Mitrovic was beating him to the headers but Konsa was making his life an absolute nightmare. He had him pinned down, he had loads of attempts, but none of them [were] really much of a threat.

“Konsa has just found his feet I think. He’s had Mings alongside him, you know he’s had a season in the Premier League and the pressure is off him as an individual as such now there’s a lot of new recruits coming in. I think he’s been outstanding.”

Villa signed Konsa, who is currently valued at £8.1 million, back in the 2019 summer transfer window from Championship side Brentford for a fee of £11.97 million.

Last season, the 22-year-old earned himself an underwhelming season rating of 6.47/10 for his performances in the 25 appearances he made for Villa in their 2019/20 Premier League campaign (per WhoScored).

However, Konsa has started this season in fine form for Villa, scoring the winning goal and picking up a match rating of 8.54/10 for his performance in their 1-0 win over Sheffield United, followed by another solid performance in this latest match against Fulham.

TIF Thoughts…

It’s great to see Konsa starting this season off in great form for Villa, who are yet to concede a Premier League goal.

Despite having a shaky season for Dean Smith’s side last year, it appears that Konsa has managed to find his feet in this team, as Bracey said in the podcast.

Hopefully, Konsa can keep this good run of form up for the Birmingham club throughout the season.
