During his recent pre-match press conference ahead of Nottingham Forest’s EFL Cup clash with Barnsley on Saturday 5th September, Sabri Lamouchi spent some time discussing the Reds’ 18-year-old attacker Alex Mighten.

Mighten broke into Forest’s first-team squad last season and he ended the 2019/20 campaign with 10 senior appearances under his belt for Lamouchi’s side, eight of which came in the Championship.

We will look at Marcelo Bielsa to kick off this quiz on the Championship's managers, which of these national teams has the Leeds United boss managed?

The England U18 international is yet to score his first senior goal for the Reds. However, he has played a full 90 minutes on just one occasion thus far.

After Mighten recently penned a new deal with the Reds that is set to keep him at the City Ground until June 2025, Lamouchi spent some time talking about the young attacker during his pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s season opener against Barnsley.

The 48-year-old was full of praise for the attacker and took the opportunity to discuss how he plans to use Mighten in the 2020/21 campaign, saying: “With Alex, he’s a future talent.

“To sign a future talent is just to send the right message to the players. If we know he’s a talented player, the opponents, the whole team, they know that.

“So, we are lucky to work with him, and the trip is long for him – but step-by-step, last season, we gave him small time and small chances.

“The idea is to give him more chances and more time to play.”

Are you confident that Mighten will enjoy a positive 2020/21 season?

TIF Thoughts…

So, judging by Lamouchi’s comments on the player during his recent pre-match press conference, it appears as though the French manager is pleased that Mighten has committed his future to the Reds and it seems that he intends to give the 18-year-old more first-team opportunities in the 2020/21 season.

Hopefully, for Mighten, he can repay the manager’s faith by delivering some positive performances and making some goal contributions for Forest this term and if he does so, then his new deal could prove to be a valuable piece of business for the Reds.
