Many Celtic supporters have flocked to a tweet from the club’s official account in which some quotes were relayed from their new signing, Albian Ajeti.
The deal bringing the Swiss striker to Parkhead cost the Hoops a reported £4.5m, and according to BBC Sport, the 23-year-old is ‘intent on forming a partnership with Odsonne Edouard’.
Speaking to the club upon his arrival, Ajeti is quoted as having said: “I’m looking forward to playing with Edouard. I think me and him will be a good match together. I’m a hard-working striker who scores goals and works hard on and off the pitch.”
Ajeti was limited to just nine appearances in the English Premier League last season and he failed to find the back of the net for West Ham in 12 appearances in all competitions (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). However, this move represents a fresh start for the former FC Basel man after what can probably be described as an unsuccessful spell in England.
Here is how a sample of the Celtic faithful have responded to Ajeti’s comments:
Knowing Celtic we’ll still play a 4231 and you’ll play LB or something, don’t get your hopes up yet

Hoping this is a little hint, that Ajeti has been told he will be playing in a 352. https://t.co/ONlHXPKdXv

During the striker’s time at FC Basel, he scored 43 goals in 96 appearances and therefore, putting his West Ham disappointment to one side, you can understand why these Celtic supporters feel they’ve completed a very exciting transfer.
