Former Rangers player Andy Halliday has recently aired his thoughts on the Gers’ manager Steven Gerrard.
The 40-year-old Liverpool legend has been situated at Ibrox Stadium for two years now since his arrival during the summer of 2018 (per Transfermarkt).
During his time with the club, the Englishman has overseen 119 matches, winning 72, drawing 28 and losing 19 of them.
Halliday was a Rangers player working under Gerrard until he departed from the Gers earlier this summer (per Transfermarkt).
So, in the latest episode of the Open Goal podcast, Halliday made an appearance and discussed what it was like to work under Gerrard.
He said: “I think you get that at a lot of clubs, though, where your assistant manager/first-team coach tends to take a lot [of the coaching]. Gerrard’s more the disciplinarian.
“He’s got that aura and presence. So, he doesn’t say a lot but when he says something, it carries.
“I think, you’re going into every single game, there’s just a clear instruction but every player knows their role – you know exactly what they want you to do.
“Every single week it’s the exact same, no matter who you’re playing. It’ll change, but going into every single game you know exactly what’s expected of you and the training’s enjoyable, which obviously always helps.”
