Starting with an easy one - which club did Celtic sign Moussa Dembele from?

The Bhoys have now confirmed that they have signed Turnbull from Motherwell and the Scotsman has now signed a four-year deal at Parkhead. He has arrived for an undisclosed fee but it is a club record for a player sold by Motherwell.

Speaking prior to the deal’s official confirmation, McCaffrey expressed his happiness about this move for Turnbull, who is currently valued at £1.62m by Transfermarkt.

He said: “Personally, I’m delighted. I really wanted us to sign Turnbull. To a certain extent, [it] came out of nowhere – suddenly, we’re doing it this week.

“He has been playing very well in the last couple of games for Motherwell despite their form being patchy, but I think he’s stood out like a sore thumb. So, I think it’s great.”

TIF Thoughts…

While Turnbull’s move to Celtic collapsed in 2019 and he missed a big chunk of the 2019/20 season due to a knee injury, he has been back in action for Motherwell this season.

He made five league appearances for Motherwell this season, scoring once, and he has picked up a WhoScored average rating of 7.25.

Turnbull impressed in the 2018/19 season as well, as he contributed to 21 goals in the full Premiership campaign.

This shows that the 21-year-old could add quality to Celtic’s midfield and provide some goals from the middle of the park as well.

Since he is 21, he might still improve as a player and could offer good potential too. So, it is no surprise that Celtic have signed the midfielder.
