Presenter Peter Martin has recently made a claim about Boli Bolingoli and his situation at Parkhead.

Martin was recently hosting the latest episode of PLZ Soccer’s The Football Show. The panel discussed many issues surrounding Scottish football and one thing that they focused on was Bolingoli and his breaking of quarantine rules after having taken a secret holiday to Spain. Martin talked about the left-back and made a claim that Bolingoli might have travelled to Spain to speak to an agent. He said that this has only been a ‘suggestion’ so far.

Starting with an easy one - which club did Celtic sign Moussa Dembele from?

Neil Lennon has said that it will be ‘very difficult’ for Bolingoli to come back to the Celtic first team. The Hoops boss also described the situation as a ‘total betrayal of trust’.

When talking about Bolingoli, Martin said: “There was a suggestion at the press conference and I’m telling you right now, it is just a suggestion, that he had gone over there to speak to an agent or talk about possible signing talks with someone which, as you know, you can do from home, anyway. So, I’m going to dismiss that at the moment.

How do Celtic deal with Bolingoli?

“The Celtic manager certainly said if that were the case, he would be in for a double punishment. In my mind, I think Boli Bolingoli’s career at Celtic is over. Seven days from now when he comes out of isolation, I think the club will view it as gross misconduct, and I think his Celtic career is at an end.”

TIF Thoughts…

Lennon had claimed that the players are ‘angry, disappointed and frustrated’ and he called Bolingoli’s act as ‘selfish’. The Hoops boss revealed that he was ‘livid’ about the whole situation. It shows that Bolingoli might indeed be in a lot of trouble as from the players to the manager, no one seems to be happy with this at all.

The left-back is currently valued at £2.52m by Transfermarkt, and Lennon didn’t use him once in the Premiership following the turn of the year. Despite this, the Hoops haven’t lost a single Premiership game during that period, which could be a sign of how selling Bolingoli may not be a big risk and Celtic might not suffer in his absence.
