On the latest episode of the BBC Sportsound podcast, Pat Bonner, James McFadden and Tom English have been reflecting on Celtic’s 6-0 win against KR Reykjavik, a result which secured Neil Lennon’s side’s spot in the Champions League second qualifying round.

Neil Lennon provided an interview following the game, and he singled out Mohamed Elyounoussi for praise in particular, with the Southampton loanee contributing two goals in the emphatic win. The 26-year-old re-joined Celtic on loan from Southampton earlier in the transfer window and looks set to be a key member of the Hoops’ squad throughout the 2020/21 campaign.

Starting with an easy one - which club did Celtic sign Moussa Dembele from?

Here’s what Lennon had to say about the Norwegian international, as featured on the podcast:

“He is [a] very fit lad, he’d be one of the fittest in the group, and he wears people down and it takes a little bit for him to get going, but I think that 90 minutes will be good for him.”

TIF Thoughts…

From what Lennon has to say, it seems as if Elyounoussi worked hard during the season break to stay fit, and is now reaping the rewards. The two goals will no doubt fill him with confidence, and hopefully, he will be able to enjoy a strong goalscoring season for the Hoops, as they aim to make it 10 title wins in a row.

Perhaps if the winger continues to impress Lennon and the Celtic Park faithful, then the Champions will be convinced at some point to make his loan stay a permanent one, although, with him currently valued at £8.55 million, it could prove to be an expensive deal.
