Hamish Carton of the 67 Hail Hail YouTube channel has been discussing the situation regarding Celtic’s Boli Bolingoli.

The Belgian defender signed for the Hoops from Rapid Vienna back in July 2019 in a deal reportedly worth £3.01m (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk). Recently, the 25-year-old was in the centre of a serious incident in which he breached the rules in place to protect people from the recent viral outbreak by travelling to Spain and he failed to quarantine afterwards (as per BBC Sport).

The Celtic boss Neil Lennon told the media that the left-back went ‘rogue’ and having done so without the club’s knowledge, Bolingoli was used in the recent fixture versus Kilmarnock and put others in danger of contracting the virus. This highlights the severity of the incident (via BBC Sport).

Starting with an easy one - which club did Celtic sign Moussa Dembele from?

Discussing Bolingoli, here is what Carton had to say in a recent video with regards to the player’s value following his recent indiscretion:

“I would argue that he is not worth £3m anyway at a good point, never mind right now when he has acted the way he has and by terminating his contract, we could possibly save some of the wages.

“So I think Celtic need to make a real big statement here and cut all ties with Bolingoli, because the way he’s acted is probably about as bad as I can recall any Celtic player ever acting.”

Do you think Bolingoli's Celtic contract should be terminated?

TIF Thoughts…

Bolingoli’s actions led to him being handed a fixed penalty notice by the police after having breached the regulations and in our view, this could well spell the end of his career at Parkhead.

As a result of his actions, the club’s next two fixtures have been cancelled. Subsequently, they could find themselves at a disadvantage being forced to chase their Old Firm rivals in the race for this season’s Scottish Premiership crown.
