On the latest episode of the BBC Sportsound podcast, Craig Levein, Tom English and Darryl Broadfoot have been discussing the latest goings-on in Scottish football following the restart of the SPFL last weekend.

One topic of discussion on the recent podcast was the future of Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos. Steven Gerrard’s side confirmed the signings of both Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten earlier this week (per BBC), and it seems as if those on the podcast feel that it could spell the end for Morelos’ time with the Gers.

Rangers fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Rangers top goalscorers quiz. We'll start you off with an easy one... Who is Rangers' current top Scottish Premiership goalscorer this season?

Here’s what Broadfoot had to say about the signings of Roofe and Itten and what it might mean for the Colombian forward on the podcast:

“Those two combined, anything between £8-9 million collectively according to suggestions, would suggest to me that they’re already plotting the replacement of Alfredo Morelos. He’s in the squad for the European match. Whether that remains the case, we’ll wait to see but it’s a sad farewell, because he’s gone out on a bit of a whimper having made such an impact, but time is of the essence.”

TIF Thoughts…

Considering Morelos has been heavily linked with a move away in recent weeks and the Ibrox outfit have now added two forwards to their ranks, it certainly does seem to suggest that the 24-year-old is on his way out.

Do you think Itten and Roofe's arrival spells the end for Morelos?

As Broadfoot suggests, the striker has had a big impact in his time with Rangers, contributing 77 goals and 30 assists in 138 appearances (per Transfermarkt), so it may well be up to the likes of Itten and Roofe to replace that goalscoring threat if Gerrard’s side are to challenge for the title this season and prevent their Old Firm rivals from securing 10 league titles in a row.
