Football journalist Duncan Castles has been discussing the possibility of Wolves signing Portuguese striker Paulinho this summer.
This comes after Castles recently made an appearance on The Transfer Window Podcast to discuss the latest transfer related updates surrounding a range of Premier League clubs.
On the subject of Wolves and a potential deal for Paulinho if they sell Raul Jimenez this summer, Castles shared his thoughts on the matter.
He said: “I don’t think it’s as advanced as has been reported. My information is that [we] do not expect that deal to be completed in the coming week. There is an interest. He is a possibility, but he’s a possibility of one of two players that they’ll bring in should they get the fee they want for the Mexican striker.”

The 27-year-old centre-forward, who is currently valued at £4.32 million according to Transfermarkt, signed to SC Braga back in the 2017 summer window on a free transfer from fellow Portuguese side Gil Vicente.
Since then, the striker has gone on to make 129 appearances for Braga in which he has managed to score 53 goals and provide 20 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).
This season saw Paulinho make a total of 48 appearances for Braga across all competitions, scoring 25 goals and providing nine assists during that time.

Given how impressive Paulinho has been in front of goal this season, it’s no surprise that he has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Jimenez should the Mexican leave the Midlands club this summer.
With Jimenez being Wolves’ top scorer for the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, he could be a big miss for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side if he were to leave Molineux in this window.
