Wolverhampton Wanderers’ valuation of English centre-back and former Leicester City loanee Ryan Bennett has emerged.

The 30-year-old defender spent the second half of the 2019/20 Premier League season on loan with the Foxes having joined them in the January transfer window.

While the move was a loan deal, Brendan Rodgers’ side had the option to make the move permanent for £5m, however, Leicester decided against the purchase.

It has now emerged in a report by Football Insider that Nuno Espirito Santo’s outfit is looking for a fee in the region of £3m to see the defender leave Molineux.

The valuation has been placed on Bennett as Daniel Farke’s Norwich City are supposedly keen on bringing him back to Carrow Road.

Wolves’ 30-year-old defender currently has one year left on his contract and a market value of £3.6m, according to Transfermarkt.

TIF Thoughts…

Seemingly, the sale of Bennett is one that makes sense for the Old Gold, as he failed to make a positive impact for both Wolves and Leicester during the 2019/20 season.

While at Molineux, Bennett made 11 appearances in the Premier League during the season, in which a weak average rating of 6.39/10 made him the side’s fifth-worst performer (per WhoScored).

Following his move to the King Power Stadium, the central defender did not perform much better as he delivered a 6.41/10 over five league appearances (per WhoScored).

Do you feel like £3m is a fair valuation for Ryan Bennett?

Furthermore, in comparison to Wolves’ French centre-back Willy Boly, the weakness of Bennett’s performances is highlighted in key defensive statistics.

In the league, Boly made 2.6 tackles and 1.8 interceptions per league game on average, whereas Bennett made just 0.4 tackles and 0.8 interceptions per league match with Wolves.

So, it would seem that the 30-year-old Englishman is way wide of the mark for the Old Gold and looking to move him on may be the best decision for all parties.
