Hammers insider @ExWHUemployee has revealed the latest regarding West Ham United’s Brazilian attacker Felipe Anderson.

According to a recent report by the Daily Star, Anderson could be offered an ‘escape route’ out of the London Stadium by his former club Lazio after they were ‘snubbed’ by David Silva.

The Serie A club had initially been interested in Anderson, however, turned their attention to Silva before they were snubbed by the former Manchester City midfielder.

Seemingly, Lazio have made a U-turn on their interest in the attacker and the Irons’ 27-year-old Brazilian is ‘firmly back in their sights‘.

So, in the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee discussed the latest on the rumours surrounding the £22.5m-rated man.

To kick-off this quiz on David Moyes on the hard side, which club was his first game on the touchline at the London Stadium against?

He said: “Now, Lazio are interested in re-signing him. I mentioned that Arsenal have a very distant interest in him.

“The reason is because [of] Edu, he’s their technical director, in charge of their transfers – and he’s Brazilian and he recommended Anderson to the Brazilian national team, and he’s friends with Kia Joorabchian – and he’s involved with Anderson.

“So, I think it’s a backup option. I don’t think there’s much to it, but they did have preliminary talks with the player.

“Anderson is attracting interest from Lazio. I think they were meant to be signing David Silva from Man City and that’s fallen through, so he could be an option there.

“He is still in Italy at the moment, but that is not related to transfers.”

TIF Thoughts…

Seemingly, Lazio do have an interest in re-signing the Brazilian attacker, however, Arsenal also have him as a “back-up option”.

If Lazio bid £25m for Felipe Anderson, would you want it accepted?

So, it appears that it is somewhat up in the air if Anderson will still be a West Ham player next season and supporters will just have to see how the rumours unfold.

After the attacker was West Ham’s sixth-best player in the Premier League during the most recent season (per WhoScored), the Brazilian may be missed if he does depart the London Stadium.
