In-the-know Hammers man @ExWHUemployee has stated that West Ham United are eyeing a move for Brentford’s Said Benrahma.

Earlier this month, it was reported by the Express that Leeds United were going to begin the bidding for the Algerian attacker but the Hammers are one of a number of clubs that will give them competition.

It was also stated in the report that the player is ‘expected’ to leave the Bees this summer after they failed to achieve promotion and he has been valued at £25m by his club.

Another Championship attacker that the Irons have been linked with this summer is Queens Park Rangers forward Eberechi Eze (per Football.london).

So, in the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee stated that West Ham were undecided over which player they would prefer after discussing the Eze transfer link.

To kick-off this quiz on David Moyes on the hard side, which club was his first game on the touchline at the London Stadium against?

He said: “The other winger that they want [aside from Eze] is the guy from Brentford, Benrahma.

“The camps are kind of torn, because Benrahma is a Will Salthouse player. So, there’s that kind of loyalty to him.

“He’s more of like a [Riyad] Mahrez player. [A] bit more sort of creative, possibly, a bit more sort of flamboyant.

“Whereas Eze’s a bit more direct, I think. A bit more tricky, a bit more pacey, a bit more like [Michail] Antonio – that type of player.

“Whether we’ll get both [Benrahma and Eze], I don’t know. I think that’s ambitious.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what @ExWHUemployee had to say, he believes that the “camps” at West Ham are “torn” between wanting Eze or Benrahma as getting both would be “ambitious”.

Which Championship attacker would you prefer West Ham to sign?

Eze

Eze

Benrahma

Benrahma

With QPR wanting £20m for the transfer of Eze and Brentford wanting £25m for Benrahma, it certainly does seem that getting both players may be a bit too “ambitious”.

Especially when it has been stated by Claret and Hugh that David Moyes will have ‘zero transfer budget’ to spend this summer, which was revealed by ‘sources close to the club’.
