Speaking recently on The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee told of three right-back targets that West Ham could be pursuing this summer.
After a fairly forgettable season, with the club finishing a mere five points above the relegation zone, there has been much talk with regards to where West Ham need to strengthen over the summer.
One of these positions could be at right-back, with the club selling Sam Byram to Norwich City last summer and Pablo Zabaleta leaving the club on a free this year, leaving West Ham with only Ryan Fredericks and youth prospect Ben Johnson as viable options in the position.
@ExWHUemployee stated that the club have a number of potential targets in the position this summer, including Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot and Timothy Fosu-Mensah, as well as Nathaniel Clyne.
He said: “At right-back, two people from Manchester United. Dalot, who I’ve mentioned before, and Fosu-Mensah – who I think is a right-back, but he’s potentially on loan as well. Nathaniel Clyne is still out of contract, I believe; I don’t know if he’s going to be someone we look at or not, but he is someone we’ve looked at in the past, so there’s potential there.”
Out of the three, who would you rather see West Ham make a move for this summer?
Dalot
Clyne
Fosu-Mensah
TIF Thoughts…
As such, if @ExWHUemployee is to be believed, it would appear that the club certainly does have plans to improve on their current options at right-back over the summer, and while the out of contract Clyne would be a slightly concerning move, in our opinion, Dalot or Fosu-Mensah are both exciting players to be linked with.
