Hammers insider @ExWHUemployee has provided an update regarding West Ham United’s interest in signing Queens Park Rangers’ Eberechi Eze.

The 22-year-old attacker has been linked with a move to the Hammers for a number of weeks now and the Irons’ main rival for the signing is thought to be London rivals Crystal Palace (per football.london).

However, a recent report stated that the Eagles will ‘miss out’ on Eze as they will not meet QPR’s demands for a £20m transfer fee (per The Sun).

It is perhaps no surprise that the two Premier League outfits are chasing Eze after he bagged an impressive 14 goals and eight assists in 46 Championship appearances during the most recent season (per WhoScored).

In the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee provided an update on the latest regarding West Ham’s interest in the Championship attacker.

To kick-off this quiz on David Moyes on the hard side, which club was his first game on the touchline at the London Stadium against?

He said: “Eze is still a priority if we can get some money from the sales of other midfielders like [Felipe] Anderson and [Manuel] Lanzini.

“He had an offer from Crystal Palace of £10m which they turned down believing they can get near £20m. However, his contract is up at the end of next season and QPR need money.

“So, Crystal Palace are saying that he’s not worth that amount of money, which is good for us, because that’s what we wanted to happen.

“We wanted the transfer to prolong and then for us to maybe sell someone and go in for Eze when I think the player wants to come to us as well, which is good.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the Hammers insider had to say, he clearly believes that the situation surrounding Eze is panning out how West Ham wanted it to.

Do you think Eberechi Eze will be a West Ham player next season?

Yes, I think he will be

However, @ExWHUemployee also claimed that the attacker wants to go the Hammers, when journalist Roshane Thomas recently stated that he ‘would prefer a move to Crystal Palace’ in a piece for The Athletic.

So, it seems that the club Eze would prefer to move to is a little unclear, as the in-the-know pundit and The Athletic journalist cannot both be correct.
