Tottenham Hotspur podcaster Bardi shared his thoughts on a potential transfer move for Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.

This comes after Bardi recently co-hosted a bonus episode of The Extra Inch Podcast alongside Nathan Clark and Chris Miller where the trio spoke about a range of topics related to the north London club.

How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

On the subject of some potential incoming transfers that the club could make this summer, one name that came up was Bailey’s, who has been linked with a move to Spurs recently, to which Bardi shared his thoughts on the matter.

He said: “Leon Bailey’s been around. It seems like he should be 34, he’s been around for so many years now and every time I see him, he looks good, but then you hear news about him and he’s falling out with people, so I’m not sure whether it’s worth it.”

The 23-year-old signed for Leverkusen back in the 2017 January transfer window from KRC Genk for a fee of £12.15 million.

Since then, the winger has made a total of 116 appearances for the Bundesliga club across all competitions in which he has managed to score 24 goals and provide 15 assists along the way.

It seems Bailey has had a history of run-ins in the past, with the Jamaican accused of having an ‘attitude problem‘ after apparently refusing to play for his country back in 2018.

The 2019/20 season saw Bailey, who is currently valued at £26.55 million, make a total of 33 appearances for Leverkusen across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing three assists along the way.

TIF Thoughts…

Whilst not having the best goals and assists record for the German club, Bailey has shown that he can compete for a Europa League team such as Leverkusen.

With Spurs currently having Son Heung-min, Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Jack Clarke in their squad – all of whom can play on the wings, a move for Bailey may not be the most necessary transfer the club could make this summer.
