Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some quotes from Luka Modric regarding his move from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid back in 2012.
The Croatian international wrote in his autobiography, as per BT Sport (via Hotspur Related), saying: “My representatives kept me informed about everything. As did [Real Madrid manager] Jose Mourinho. Levy was driving them crazy: it seemed that every time they reached an agreement, he asked for something else.”
During his time at Spurs, the midfielder made 160 appearances, contributing 17 goals and 27 assists (per Transfermarkt), which led to him completing a move to Los Blancos in 2012 for a fee of £31.5 million. Since then, the 34-year-old has helped the La Liga giants to four Champions League wins and two league titles, with the former Dinamo Zagreb man also winning the prestigious Ballon d’Or trophy in 2018 (per Transfermarkt).
Do you see this as a good or bad thing from Levy?

However, other Spurs fans see this in a negative light, suggesting that Levy is part of the problem.

Levy is why it’s so hard to refresh our squad. If only he would stay out of transfers, holds the club back big time.

Overall, it seems as if whilst some Spurs fans were happy with Levy’s actions regarding the Croatian’s move to Real Madrid eight years ago, other Lilywhites supporters feel as if the chairman’s transfer antics are holding them back.
