Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a transfer rumour linking their side to Brighton centre-back Ben White.
According to The Sun (via Hotspur Related), the north London club have contacted Brighton to enquire about the young defender. The 22-year-old was extremely impressive during the 2019/20 campaign with Leeds United, helping Marcelo Bielsa’s side to the Championship title, making 46 appearances and averaging a superb 7.09/10 match rating (per WhoScored).
However, the Englishman is not short of potential suitors, with the report from The Sun suggesting that Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Leicester City have also enquired, whilst Leeds have officially bid for the centre-back. Considering Spurs will be without Jan Vertonghen next season after he recently left the club, you could argue that Jose Mourinho’s side are in need of defensive reinforcements, and perhaps the Brighton man could prove to be the ideal replacement.

Overall, it seems as if the majority of Spurs fans would love to see their side sign White this summer, but they will certainly face a lot of competition.
