Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a reported transfer update on Roma player Nicolo Zaniolo.
According to Sky Sports Italy journalist Angelo Mangiante (via Hotspur Related), the North London club made contact with Roma to present a bid for the 21-year-old, but their bid was rejected by the Serie A side, with the club’s new owners declaring that the player is not for sale.
Last season in Serie A, the 21-year-old made 26 appearances for Roma; contributing six goals and two assists; which saw him average a solid 6.87 rating (per Whoscored). However, his performances in the Europa League were much more impressive, with the youngster scoring and assisting twice in seven appearances; which earned him a superb 7.33 rating (per Whoscored).
Do you think Spurs have any chance of signing Zaniolo?
Yes
No
These performances are even more impressive, perhaps, when you consider that he missed a significant period of the season due to a cruciate ligament rupture that kept him out from January to July (per Transfermarkt).

Somebody at the club surely has a big obsession with this guy, it’s like the third transfer window when we are trying to buy him I would love if he was to come, but since Roma doesn’t wanna sell, I don’t understand why they aren’t looking for alternatives…

I think he’s regarded as the next big thing in Italy to be honest. He’s quick and strong so would suit the prem.

Overall, it seems clear that the majority of Spurs fans would love to see their club sign Zaniolo but it seems as if Roma won’t be convinced to sell the 21-year-old in the current transfer window.
