Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a recent report linking them with Watford striker Troy Deeney.
According to the Daily Mail (via Daily Hotspur), the Lilywhites are exploring the option of taking the forward on loan from Watford next season after the Hornets’ recent relegation to the Championship. The report suggests that the 32-year-old striker is of interest to Jose Mourinho and that Spurs have discussed an initial loan deal with the Hornets, ahead of his deal with the club expiring at the end of next season.
In the most recent Premier League season, Deeney impressed for Watford, contributing 10 goals in 27 top-flight appearances, which saw him comfortably finish as the club’s top performer; averaging a 7.05/10 rating across the season (per WhoScored).
Therefore, you can see why the striker might be a good addition to Spurs’ side ahead of next season, as Mourinho was left with very few attacking options following the injury to Harry Kane last season – and with Troy Parrott having also joined Millwall on loan recently, you can certainly argue that signing a forward is a priority for the north London club ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
Would Deeney be a good signing for Spurs?
Yes

We can do better surely?!

People who are happy with theses sort of signings , shouldn’t complain afterwards when we fail to win anything

It seems as if a lot of Lilywhites supporters are less than impressed with the rumour.
This has to be a joke . Troy Deeney is not a good striker. He would never get in any other top 10 team . If this is Jose’s new Tottenham then I am glad I can’t go to watch them

No way near good enough for spurs, but as someone said if its just a loan option and that leaves the money for other positions that we do need and can still have another striker then do it. I’d rather wilson for 10mil from Bournemouth if that price tag is true

As can be seen in these tweets from Spurs fans, they are clearly not keen on their club signing Deeney on loan this summer.
