Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the reported news that Jose Mourinho is keen on signing a target man this summer.
According to The Telegraph (via The Spurs Web), the Portuguese coach wants to add another striker to his ranks ahead of next season, and is hoping for a target man who can come off the bench and make an impact. The report also suggests that the Lilywhites are currently looking to sign a backup striker.
It is unsurprising to hear that Spurs’ manager is desperate to sign another forward, considering he bemoaned the Lilywhites’ lack of attacking options last season, following the injury to Harry Kane.
The north London club let Fernando Llorente leave following the 2018/19 campaign, and arguably never replaced him, with Mourinho left with no senior natural strikers during Kane’s absence.
Are you happy to hear that Mourinho wants a target man?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the reported transfer claim can be seen in the tweets below.
We also need a rotation option for Kane, not just a “lump it up the the big man back up”. We need a genuine rotation option who can play Europa Lge / Cup games that will give Kane a rest without impacting on too much on team style / performance

The club have been looking for 15 months. The main criteria is dirt cheap on low wages. It’s ridiculous a club of this size has had 1 striker for so long #THFC #COYS https://t.co/MtKkm0VLPq

Some Spurs fans were quick to make suggestions, with Wolfsburg’s Wout Weghorst proving popular.

Overall, it seems as if some Spurs fans aren’t too happy that the club are still looking for a target man and feel it should have been sorted a long time ago, whilst others just wanted to share their opinion as to who they think would be a good option for Mourinho.
