Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest reported news on Jack Clarke, which suggests that Jose Mourinho will give the youngster a chance to win a place in the Tottenham Hotspur squad during pre-season.
According to Dan Kilpatrick in the Evening Standard (via TranSPURS), the Portuguese manager is keen to add competition in his side and is willing to give the 19-year-old a chance to impress in pre-season. The winger, who joined from Leeds United last summer, has endured a difficult season, making just ten appearances across two separate loan spells with Leeds and QPR (per WhoScored).
The report from the Evening Standard also suggests that if he doesn’t do enough to prove to Mourinho that he is worthy of a first-team spot, then the likes of Fulham, West Brom and Brentford are all interested in taking him on loan. Hopefully, for the youngster, he will be able to feature more regularly next season, to ensure that his development isn’t stifled too much.
Do you think Clarke deserves a chance to show Mourinho what he can do?

Great news every player needs to be given a chance to prove themselves
But if it turns out they’re not ready then send them out on loan imo— SuperHotspurfc (@SuperHotspursfc) August 5, 2020
He’s very young and leaning the game, but very quick & skilful and was a great little signing, give the lad a chance.

Other Spurs fans were less optimistic about Clarke’s chances of making it at the north London club.
Sold in January

The money spent on this lad could’ve been used on Dybala. Unfair to the lad, but he’ll go down as one of the most useless transfers in club history

I don’t see anything in this lad out of the ordinary at all reckon he’ll be lucky to play for PL relegation teams at 23/24. What do people see in him?

Overall, there seems to be a split of opinion amongst Spurs fans when it comes to Clarke, so hopefully the 19-year-old will be able to do enough next season to prove he was worth the circa-£10 million fee Spurs paid for him last summer.
