Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a reported transfer rumour linking Fulham with a move for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga.
According to Telegraph Sport (via Daily Hotspur), the newly-promoted side are keen on signing the Argentinian shot-stopper from Spurs this summer and are preparing a move for him. Tottenham recently brought in Joe Hart on a free transfer, which adds to Gazzaniga’s competition at Spurs, but the Cottagers are said to be willing to offer the 28-year-old the chance to compete for the number one shirt.
Spurs signed the ‘keeper from Southampton in 2017 and in his time with the Lilywhites he has gone on to make just 37 first-team appearances, 25 of which came in the most recent season, as he filled in for Hugo Lloris following his elbow injury in October. In 18 Premier League appearances during the 2019/20 campaign, Gazzaniga averaged a less than impressive 6.65 rating (per Whoscored), suggesting he wouldn’t be the biggest loss for Jose Mourinho should he depart this summer.

No surprise, frees up a foreign space and we have Austin as the 3rd keeper allowing Whiteman to go on a much needed loan. More sensible moves by Jose….

Sell him. About time we keep Austin in the first team, clearly has potential (just called up to the England U21s). Don’t think Hart will be any worse than Gazza was.
