Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest update on Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson, which suggests that Tottenham will now turn their attention to signing the 28-year-old after agreeing a deal with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
According to Paul Brown in the Daily Star (via Daily Hotspur), the Lilywhites are now favourites to sign the England international, ahead of the likes of West Ham United and Newcastle United, with him having told the Cherries he wants to leave this summer. The report suggests that Bournemouth want in excess of £20 million for the former Coventry City man but Spurs believe the player is keen on a move and that a compromise between the two clubs can be reached.
In the most recent Premier League season Wilson contributed just eight goals in 35 top-flight appearances, which saw him average a disappointing 6.51 rating for the recently relegated side (per WhoScored). Jose Mourinho was certainly frustrated by the Lilywhites’ lack of attacking options last season, following the injury to Harry Kane, so you could certainly argue that signing a forward should be a priority for the Portuguese manager this summer.
Would Wilson be a good signing for Spurs?

This will be a very good move – bit of a gamble – but a reasonable one

Other Spurs fans seem surprised by the reported fee, with many suggesting that Daniel Levy would be able to reduce their asking price.

Overall, it seems as if the majority of Spurs fans would welcome a move for Wilson this summer, although some are hoping that Levy can negotiate a lower fee first.
