Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest update on Serge Aurier’s potential move to AC Milan.
The Italian club’s sporting director Paolo Maldini has confirmed that the Rossoneri are in talks to sign the Ivory Coast international this summer, saying (per Sky Sport): “We had talked to his agent last year, there was a chance. Now let’s think about ending the season, then we will act on the market.”
After Spurs fan account Hotspur Related shared this news with fans, plenty of Lilywhites supporters have aired that they wouldn’t be too disappointed to see the 27-year-old leave the north London club this summer.
Since signing from PSG in 2017, the right-back has gone on to make 83 appearances for Spurs, contributing six goals and 14 assists (per Transfermarkt). The defender was one of Spurs’ better players in the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, averaging a 7.06/10 rating for his performances in the top-flight, which saw him rated as the north London club’s third-best player across the season (per WhoScored).

Some seem surprised that someone like Maldini, who is renowned for his defensive ability during his playing days, is interested in signing Aurier.
Arguably the greatest defender ever. What the hell is he thinking, to look at Aurier and think “yeah, he’s just what we need in our back 4”.
